Saie Beauty Review: Is It Good For Mature Skin Over 50?

If you are like me you often wonder if a clean beauty brand of makeup works for mature skin. I think it is a very valid question. I believe that generations younger than mine are more into the clean beauty movement than my generation. For some time, Saie Beauty kept popping up on my radar screen. So I finally decided to try some of the products and thought I would let others know my thoughts on the products and mature skin.

I will be honest and upfront with you about the products that I have tried. I have not tried the entire line, but I do think that there are some good products to add to your everyday beauty routine.

Before I dive into Saie Beauty products here are a few other posts you might want to check out.

Saie Clean Beauty Review

For the last few years, I have been focusing on finding clean beauty products that work well for my over 50 skin. Since trying Saie Beauty I don’t think there is a day that goes by that I don’t use at least one of their products.

First off, how do you pronounce Saie? Just like the word “say”. Pretty simple. I love that part of their motto is “saie it” and we will create it. Laney Crowell is the creator of this brand. She launched it in 2019. Her mission is to make better beauty with clean, award-winning products that are sustainable and conscious of the planet.

Saie is 100% cruelty-free, Leaping Bunny certified, and all products are gluten-free. Recycling is also a priority for them. They have a detailed recycling program that is easy to access on their website. It makes recycling your products the correct way so easy.

Saie Products (What I’ve Tested + My Favorites)

I like to say that my mature skin has some “special needs”. Those of us who are over 50 know what I am talking about. With age, comes dark spots, drier skin, and the dreaded wrinkles. So not all formulations work for our skin. The last thing we want is for our beauty products to get down into our creases or not cover our spots.

Wearing makeup that enhances my skin and makes it look healthy is always my goal. With that in mind, here are my thoughts on some of Saie Beauty’s most popular products.

Glowy Super Skin Tint Foundation

This lightweight foundation is dreamy in my opinion. It is so dreamy for my skin that I own it in two shades, one for cooler months and one for warmer months. Once the foundation is on my skin it is so weightless that I can’t tell that I am wearing foundation.

The formula is 85% skincare serum and 15% weightless pigment. It is a lightweight foundation that provides medium coverage. It truly is a luminous, second-skin finish. It is available in 36 colors so there is going to be one to match your skin tone.

When applying I make sure that I shake the bottle well. There is natural separation since it is 85% skincare ingredients. I usually put a pump onto my finger and press it into my skin. I will finish blending it with a Beauty Blender sponge. Also, I make sure I use their Airset powder to get the best finish with the makeup. Without the powder, it is almost a little too shiny on my skin.

I wear shade 6, light with peach undertones, and shade 8, light with warm undertones.

Slip Tint Tinted Moisturizer

This tinted moisturizer is for the days that I want a no-makeup makeup look. I like that it contains a SPF 35 UVA-UVB Zinc sunscreen. The formula is sheer and very hydrating. It creates a glow like no other tinted moisturizer I have tried.

I apply this with my fingertips and rub it into my skin just like any other moisturizer. It blends easily. The only complaint that I have about this product is that the pump on my tube quit working so I have to open the tub to squeeze the product out. I always use the Airset over it to finish my look.

Again, Saie Beauty does a good job with color options. There are fourteen shades of this tinted moisturizer so you will be able to find one that looks good on your skin. I wear shade 3, light to medium peach.

Glowy Super Gel

This product is a glowy luminizer. If you are looking for a glow from within kind of look, then this product is for you. You can wear it along, under, or over your foundation of choice.

When I say that a little goes a long way, it is very true with this product. I have made myself a little too glowy. My favorite way to wear this product is by just putting a very small dot in a few locations on my face and rubbing it in before I apply my foundation. I pair it with the Glow Super Skin Tint or with the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.

Dew Blush

I love a good blendable cream blush and this one never disappoints me. I can always create an effortless, natural-looking flush with this product. I usually use this on the days that I am wearing the Slip Tint Tinted Moisturizer. I find that the two products complement one another.

The product comes out on a soft applicator when you open the bottle. I put a few dots onto my cheeks and blend in with my fingers. You can layer it to build a deeper color if you want. My favorite color is Peachy.

Glow Sculpt

It took me a while to get the hang of using this product. It is a creamy tinted highlighter that I was using as a blush (Peachglow). The color is stunning and the effect of the tinted highlighter leaves an incredible glow. You can tell that there is hyaluronic acid and other hydrating ingredients in this product.

My mistake was that I was trying to use a brush that I use for powdered blush and that was my problem. Once I got the Saie Beauty double brush the product went on smoothly.

If you like how a powdered blush goes on, then I would recommend that you try this product as a blush. I find that my skin has a better glow to it with this type of formula versus a regular powder blush. It looks very natural.

Airset

The Airset powder has converted me into a setting powder person. Until I tried this setting powder, I was not a fan of them. The finish that this powder provides is just beautiful and you don’t realize you have another layer on your face. It is velvety smooth and luminous all at the same time. It does not settle in any of my creases or wrinkles. I like to put a very small amount all over my face to give it a perfect finish.

The packaging is great on this powder. Because of the amount of holes for the product to come out, there is never too much on my brush. I use the color Translucent.

Lip Blur

This is Saie’s version of matte lipstick. If you like a long-lasting, hydrating, shine-free lipstick AND you like the colors that they offer, then it is worth a try.

I have tried a couple of the colors, Classic and Surreal. They look and feel great on my lips. I do not have issues with the color “bleeding”. I will be honest that I don’t reach for them that often. It’s not that I don’t like them, they are just not colors that I wear frequently.

Other Saie Products

Yes, I haven’t tried other products in this line. They have an under-eye concealer, a concealer, and mascara. I have clean beauty products from other brands that I am happy with. That is why I am not writing about theirs. It doesn’t mean they aren’t good, I just haven’t tried them.

Also, they have a bronzer and lip gloss. I will be honest, I don’t use bronzers. Lip gloss is another category that I don’t use regularly so I just tried their lipstick.

Thanks, Let’s Keep In Touch

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my Saie Beauty review. I hope my experiences with the line answered some questions you had or made you want to try it. Please let me know which products you try. I don’t think there is a day that I don’t reach for at least one product from this brand.
