It’s Apple Season in Georgia – Some Tasty Recipes

Can you believe that we turned the page in the calendar to September this week?  That means it’s apple season here in Georgia.  Some of the orchards just north of us opened up this past weekend.  It might be time for a road trip north soon.  Nothing like a good fresh apple from the north Georgia mountains.  I’m wondering if they will still have a few peaches left too.  I recently wrote about some of my favorite ways to eat them here.

Today I thought I would share some apple recipes that I love to make in the fall and some others that I have in my “must try” folder.  A good friend always says that one of my God given talents is spotting a tasty recipe.  When writing this post it got me to thinking about how times have changed when it come to finding new recipes.  Remember when we would turn page after page in a cookbook and now it’s just a search on Pinterest or a favorite website.  I do still have a few cookbooks (here and here) that are my “go tos” for lots of favorite recipes, mainly my weeknight dinners. However, Pinterest and food websites are dangerous “rabbit holes” for me to go down some days.  Before I realize it an hour has passed.  Ever have that happen to you?

I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to many more meals made in the slow cooker.  I couldn’t live without this one and bringing out some of my favorite cast iron Dutch ovens for braising and simmering.  Just thinking about those wonderful smells makes my mouth water.

Ok, so now I’m going to focus in on the cheery yellow shirt and comfy slides I’m wearing.  I can’t recommend this brand of button down shirts enough.  Truly my favorite for fit, as well as, quality for the price.  I could own one in every color they make.  These cute slides from Birdies have been in my closet for a couple of years now so this color is no longer available, but there are some that I am planning to add to the closet for fall in other styles.  I will link them below so you can see how adorable they are.  Since we are staying at home more I have a feeling that they will become my new “house shoes” that I wear every day versus slippers.  Much better for our feet because they have good cushioning and support.

Let me know if you try any of these recipes.  I love for you to drop me a message about our little virtual visits.

Remember to always have a little SASs in your day.
