Georgia Peaches – My Latest Grilling Obsession

Georgia Peaches are so tasty this season.  I have been making trips to the local farmers market the last couple of Saturdays just to stop by my favorite farmer’s stand.  I must say that grilling peaches has become a new obsession for me.

For the most part I keep dessert rather simple around here.  As many of you know I am dairy free and gluten free.  Every once in a while I will totally splurge and have a few bites of a decadent dessert, but it has to be very worthy.  The consequences are just not worth it to me if it isn’t just spectacular.

Now back to my new obsession.  Peaches have lots of health benefits and are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals.  You can read more about them by clicking here.  I also found this article from Cook’s Illustrated that has some great tips on why you should grill stone fruit and some great tricks so that they are flavorful.  Definitely worth the read.

Recipes that Make My Mouth Water

Now onto some recipes that I have found that just make my mouth water.  Some are diet friendly and some are splurges that I would love to have one bite of.  If you try any of these please let me know.

Southern Discourse Pecan Stuffed Grilled Peaches

You know I had to include the last one because Georgia Pecan season is just around the corner.  I promise to find some great ways to use them once they are in season.  Also Georgia Peaches and Georgia Pecans do pair beautifully.  The other local fruit that I like to make easy healthy recipes with is Georgia Apples.  You can read about my favorite apple recipes too.

Grilling/Kitchen Accessories

A cooking post would not be complete without a cute apron and some of my favorite cooking accessories for the dishes I highlighted.  So does this apron say summer cooking or what…..peaches, strawberries and blueberries.  Never fear if you don’t have an outdoor grill, you can use one of my favorite grill pans and get the same effect.

I do hope you enjoyed this post on Georgia Peaches.  I have more like this in the works.  Hope you can find some tasty Georgia Peaches at your local farmers market or grocery.  Enjoy.

Happy reading and eating.
