Shopping In Atlanta

To be honest, there are so many areas in the city that have great shops. Whether you prefer to shop locally owned shops or larger chains there is such a great variety. In the last several years some great outdoor shopping areas have been developed. You can shop and dine to your heart’s delight. New and interesting things are always opening.

The places on this list are shops that I have been going to for years. Some have been around longer than others. I will tell you a little about each and where they are located. When in Atlanta you always have to plan your excursions.

My Favorite Places

Anna Bella Fine Lingerie

If you are a lingerie lover, then this Alpharetta boutique is a must visit. They have an amazing selection of exquisite lingerie and they always have so many styles to choose from. Their complimentary bra fitting is the best that I have ever experienced.

This shop is a female-owned and run local business located in downtown Alpharetta. It is a one-of-a-kind boutique where you will always find a helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Ballard Designs

Many know Ballard Designs from their online and catalog options. We are lucky to have a beautiful store located here in Atlanta. It is located in west Midtown. Not far from Buckhead or Downtown.

It’s always so nice to be able to go in and see the pieces that you have admired online or in the catalog. They also offer design services as well.

Buckhead Village

Buckhead Village is a destination that you don’t want to miss. It is in the heart of Buckhead and you will want to make sure that you plan your visit close to lunch or an early dinner. Not only is this area known for its designer shops, but also some amazing restaurants. Always check their website for a current directory of shops and restaurants so that you can play your day accordingly.

There are three stores that I love to visit at this location.

Outrageous Interiors and Designs

Outrageous Interiors and Designs is a home furnishings store that I have been shopping for over 20 years. It is a family-owned and run business that has been around Atlanta for over 35 years. To be local and in business for that long you know they must do something right.

Patti Gosch founded the business in 1988. Soon after her husband joined her with plans to expand the business. They now have four locations throughout the metro area. Their daughter Allie is also part of the business. Whether you need to freshen up a coffee table with accessories, refresh a room, or a whole house Outrageous Interiors is here to help you. You can buy things from the floor or custom order. What I love about going into their Alpharetta store (all of their stores are this way) is that the inventory is always changing. So no matter when you stop in there is always something new to see.

Waiting On Martha Home

For more than a decade Waiting on Martha has been helping Atlantans live an inspired life every day. Mandy Kellogg Rye opened an online shop in 2012 and a brick-and-mortar store in Vinings in 2017. You can find designer furnishings, housewares, and gifts in store. It is one of my favorite destinations when I am looking for a unique gift. She also has the best selection of holiday and seasonal decor that you will find. Her velvet pumpkins are a must in the fall.

The store is located in the Vinings Jubilee shopping center. Again, this is a quaint center not far from the heart of Atlanta. You will find other boutiques and great restaurants so plan accordingly for this visit.

You will want to check out all of their custom embroidery work as well. Once you touch and experience their towels and robes you will understand why so many love them.
