7 Romantic Getaways In Georgia You Need To Experience

One of the beautiful things about living in Georgia is that not only do we have the mountains to escape to, but we also have the Georgia coast and beaches. In addtion, there is the big city of Atlanta and many smaller cities that offer great historical venues to visit. Needless to say, there are so many options for romantic getaways in Georgia.
Many times when have that yearning to get away we forget about what is around us. So if you live in or near Georgia there are so many options to explore. If you are traveling here from another state, then maybe you can visit a couple of areas. Once you land at the Atlanta airport, it’s easy to get to the mountains or the coast.
We have lived in the metro Atlanta area for over 30 years now. There are still places that are on our bucket list. Hopefully, you will find something to add to your romantic getaways in Georgia list that makes your heart flutter.

North Georgia Romantic Getaway Options
North Georgia has something for everyone. By that, I mean north of Atlanta. You can go straight north or off to the east or west. So we are going in each direction to find great romantic getaways in Georgia for you to choose from.
- Quiet time in the moutains at a resort or in a cabin
- Luxury resort with golf, fine dining, and spa treatments
- Big city with museums, great restaurants, and shopping
Barnsley Gardens
Barnnsley Gardens is located in Adairsville, GA which is up Interstate 75 like you are going to Tennessee. There is a romantic backstory to what is now a luxury resort. Once you are on the grounds you can treat yourself to many differenct experiences. You can be pampered in the spa, spend time on the golf course, or doing a little horseback riding on the grounds. They also have the Beretta Shooting grounds if you are into the great outdoors.
Brasstown Valley
Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa is located in Young Harris which is nestled amongst the North Georgia Mountains. You can choose from a room in the main lodge, a cottage, or a Spa suite. The choice is yours to sit back, relax to enjoy the beautiful views or be active. You can enjoy horseback riding, golf, or many other activites. Lots of great hiking is also nearby.
Chateau Elan Winery
Chateua Elan Winery and Resort is located in Braselton. Just north of Atlanta off of I-85 like your are going to the Carolinas, nestled in the foothills of the mountains. You will feel like you have been transported to the French countryside when you visit this luxury resort. Chateau Elan is known for its European spa, championship golf course, and fine wine and food.
The Big City – Atlanta
Are you into museums, shopping, and lots of restaurants to choose from? If so, a few days in Atlanta are perfect for you. Walking to all of your options can be a nice change of pace if you live where you are always having to get in the car to go somewhere.
Four Seasons Atlanta (Midtown)
The Four Seasons Atlanta is a great option if you like exploring the city. This luxury hotel is on the first 19 floors of a 50 story Midtown Atlanta hirise. They have a spa for pampering yourself and Bar Margot is a great place to end your day with dinner and drinks. It is within walking distance of the High Museum and Atlanta Symphony Hall.
Middle Georgia
Romantic getaways in Georgia can also be found in middle of the state. Up for a little time with true southern architecture and some history? Then this is a getaway for you.
James Madison Inn is located in historic Madison, GA. If you are a history buff or just enjoy southern hospitality and food, then a getaway to this town should be on your list. The Inn is located in the heart of this historic town so bring your walking shoes and enjoy.
On The Coast Romantic Getaways Abound
Savannah is just one of those places where you feel like you have escaped. The hotels, the Bed and Breakfasts, the Inns are all just so unique and available at all price points.
