Kimpton St. Honore Paris Review, A Must for Your Next Trip to Paris
It had been about twenty years since we had been to Paris. When we started planning this trip we started reminiscing about our last trip there (our 10th wedding anniversary). What was funny is that each of us could remember random things about the trip and they were totally different things. However, one thing that neither of us can remember is where we stayed. Well, this trip is totally different because we will always have fond memories of our stay at the Kimpton St. Honore.
This trip was one that both of us needed to just enjoy being and do a little recharge/reset. We made a few plans ahead of time, but mainly wanted to soak up our surroundings and the city. Taking our time and just being. The Kimpton St. Honore enabled us to do that. The location, the ambience, the views, the accommodations…..all were perfect for a trip that we will remember fondly for many years to come. So here’s why the hotel made our trip so memorable for us.

The Hotel – Kimpton St. Honore
The hotel opened in 2020; however, the building dates back to 1917. It was originally a luxury department store, Samaritaine de Luxe. The original lifts welcome you into the lobby, as well as, the beautiful marble staircases. Both are stunning and have been rostored to what I am sure is their original beauty.
When Kimpton renovated they left some of the beautiful Art Deco and Art Nouveau touches to the building while turning it into a modern luxury boutique hotel. You can see it on the outside facade of the building as well as throughout the hotel.
The Location
Talk about prime location in the heart of an amazing city. It is located directly across from a sister IHG property the Intercontinental LeGrand on Boulevard des Capucines. Our room faced the Intercontinental.
This location is just a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the famed Opera, Galeries Lafeyette, and Printemps. Other places that you will want to visit such as Place Vendome, Louvre, Palais Royal, Louvre, and Tuileries Gardens are less than a twenty minute walk from the hotel.
Needless to say, there were also plenty of restaurants, patisseries, and specialty shops within minutes from the hotel’s front door.
The Rooms
The Kimpton St. Honor is a boutique hotel. There are only 149 rooms. 123 guest rooms and 26 suites.
We stayed in one of the King Bed Premium Balcony Opera View rooms. The room was very Parisian chic with hardwood floors, a comfortable bed, and an amazing shower (best shower we have ever had in a hotel). Yes,the shower had a zero entry with an overhead rain head. The toiletries were from the Codage spa which is housed in the lower level of the hotel. They were a treat every time you showered. The smell was AMAZING.
The most memorable part of our room for us is the view. Our room was on the 8th floor (10 floors total). The windows opened out onto the balcony. There was plenty of room for the two of us to stand out there and just soak up the sights of Paris which we did EVERY day we were there.
One thing to consider about rooms facing the Boulevard des Capucines is the street noise at night. It is a busy city street so you do hear sirens and other typical street noise. It did not bother us, but if you are a light sleeper you might want to make sure you pack your ear plugs or your white noise machine.

The Service
From the time that we drove up to the hotel to the very early morning that we left the hotel, we were always greeted with friendly smiles and helpful service. The check-in process was very fast and easy. The young lady that checked us in even escorted us to our room and informed us about everything we needed to know for our stay.
Housekeeping was efficient and thorough each day. Our room was alway perfect every day when we returned from being out and about. We are huge water drinkers and they kept us stocked with plenty of complimentary Evian water.
The concierge staff was always ready to help. Whether it was a recommendation or ticketing information they always had an opinion and several suggestions for us. They did not lead us astray during our visit.

Amenities
Rooftop Bar – Sequoia
The rooftop bar was truly magical. The 360 degree views of the city were incredible and so memorable. A very Instagram worthy site. The bar itself was closed for the season when we were there in early November. We were still able to access it and take our own drink upstairs to enjoy the views. Morning, noon, or night they were all very special.
Spa/Health Club
The lowel level of the hotel housed the Codage spa and exercise room. Codage spa is a luxury spa in Paris and they offered many indulgent services if you wanted to relax and pamper yourself during your stay. All of their products are manufactured at their facility in the South of France.
There is an exercise room with plenty equipment if you find that you need to get a workout in. A small, but efficient facility. There is also a gorgeous heated pool and steam/sauna facilities in the same area. Everything that you need to pamper yourself while on vacation.
Bikes
The Kimpton St. Honore also offers complimentary bikes (manual and electric) if you want to pedal around the city and see the sites.
Dining – Montecito
The full service restaurant, The Montecito, serves up California style cuisine. So if you want to take a break from traditional French cuisine the inhouse restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also serve up beautiful craft cocktails.

THANKS
Thanks so much for stopping by to read about the wonderful stay we had at the Kimpton St. Honore. We love to travel to unique, smaller hotels and this trip did not dissapoint. It was a great place for us to relax and recharge. We are a childfree couple and tend to like to go to places where there are primarily adults and this fit our preference for that. So if you are childfree like us (you can ready about our decision to be childfree here) or are empty nesters, this is definitely a hotel for you. You can book the book the Kimpton St. Honore by clicking here and view all of the different room options to find one that best suits your preferences.
