What to Wear to a Holiday Luncheon : Petite Friendly Options

‘Tis the season to be out and about so much more. I love this time of year for that. People always make the time to get together with one another. Seems that everyone is always on their hamster wheel of life. We sometimes forget that we really should make the time to get together, laugh, and share a meal. There is just always something so special about that time with friends. Needless to say, we want to look our best this time of year. So I thought I would put together a few different holiday luncheon outfit scenarios.

I will say that when I went to put these together I wanted to make sure that all of these options are petite-friendly. Yes, I know if you click on the links all of the items are regular-sized. These are brands that I have tried over the years myself and they worked for my 5′ tall body. If not, then I looked at the measurements and how each item was constructed so that things could be altered easily. You can also ready my post on how to shop for clothes if a brand does not offer petite sizing here.

Why I Like to Buy Classic Pieces for the Holiday Season

The holiday season is such a special time of year. When you think about the holidays you always envision wearing red, green, and plaid. Classic colors and pattern. A favorite brand of mine for this time of year is Sara Campbell. Sara is known for her classic, timeless designs. You can read more about her brand and story here. I like and appreciate that all of her garments are made in the USA. You can find her stores up and down the east coast or you can order online.

The taffeta blouse that I am wearing is one that I will have in my closet for many years to come. It is something that I will pull out for dressier holiday luncheons or high tea. It would even an evening cocktail party. My choice of bottoms and accessories help set the tone for how dressy the blouse looks.

I choose to buy a few classic pieces that I can mix and match. We always think that we have to buy a new ensemble. However, if we have a few classic pieces it is easy to switch things up. Honestly people don’t remember from year to year.

Classic Blouses

So if you are looking for a new blouse this year that is a little different I love this blue silk blouse with 3/4 sleeves (no altering for short arms). This purple stretch velvet blouse has an amazing neckline and would be fabulous with coated jeans or velvet pants. If you are in Florida or another warm weather part of the world, then this black and white check blouse is perfect for the holiday season and so many other times of the year.

Classic Skirts

Classic skirts always come in handy during the holiday season. The Paris skirt and the Hope skirt are both classic A-line shaped skirts that will serve you well for years. I love the fact that Sara designs them with elastic in the back. Both would be very easy to hem to the preferred length for a petite woman. A simple top with either of these skirts and you are good to go to any soiree.

Holiday Luncheon Looks

What makes the season fun is going to different types of holiday luncheons. I know that I always look forward to a special lunch with my workout BFFs which is always very casual. I also have another group of friends that like to get a little more dressed up. We may even venture into the city. Some years I even need a look that is a little more professional looking. That being said I thought it would be fun to put together a few fun looks that can be worn during the holiday and throughout the winter.
