Warm Workwear

Let’s talk about staying warm while we work today. Whether you are in an office all day long, in and out of appointments, or working from a home office, warm workwear is important during the cold winter months. Many times in office buildings warm workwear is needed all year round due to the frigid air conditioning.
One of my favorite winter pieces to start with is a black cashmere turtleneck. I also keep other lighter weight black turtlenecks around just in case my topper is really warm. The next piece that I like to have around for cold winter months is lined trousers. That extra layer of fabric not only helps to keep me warm, but just makes me feel oh so good. I also know (at least in my own mind) that the appearance of the slacks on my body looks better. Positive self reinforcement is always a good thing.
That brings us to today’s ensemble. I started with my black cashmere turtleneck, added a great pair of houndstooth trousers and for my topper of choice I pulled out a suede double breasted cropped suede jacket (similar look here and here). The jacket picks up one of the neutral colors in the trousers. For keeping my toes toasty today, I chose to pair this with a pair of black suede booties.
Another option for a great topper for this type of ensemble is a wrap. Easy to take off and on and keep on the back of your chair. Here are a couple of options (here and here). The other thing that you could easily do to change up the look of these warm workwear pants is to swap the colors of the turtleneck and topper or just wear a chunky black sweater with them.
Hope that you are staying warm wherever you are. The day that we snapped these photos it was a windy, chilly day in the low 30s. Needless to say, we didn’t waste any time snapping away.
Happy Monday.
