Seersucker Skirt – Creative Way to Wear

Seersucker skirt just goes hand in hand with the heat and humidity that summer in the south brings. I wrote about ways to wear a seersucker jacket and the history of the seersucker fabric. You can read that post here.
When I saw this cute seersucker skirt from Banana Republic, I just knew that it needed to be in my closet. The cut and style is one that you can easily dress up or down. The first thought for most people is to find a solid color top that will pair nicely with it. To mix things up a bit, I am pairing it with a couple of patterned blouses that have lived in my closet for a while.
Look #1 is something that you could wear to the office or meetings. This blouse is something that I have had for some time and couldn’t really find something similar. Here is an interesting option with yellow as a dominant color.
Look #2 is more casual. I loved the play of the blue flowers with the blue stripes. Finishing the look with a bright blue shoe is the “icing on the cake”. Here is a similar shirt.
With both looks I stayed with a fun wedge heel for a summertime vibe. This blue stiletto wedge is a closet favorite. What I love about this style is that it gives the comfort of a wedge, but the sleekness of a heel. A friend of mine, Ann Roth, designed the shoe several years ago. I encourage you to try on a stiletto wedge if you ever see them. Trust me, you will invite them into your shoe collection.
What is your favorite way to wear a seersucker skirt or pant? Would love to hear your favorite combinations.
Thanks for reading. Enjoy your day.
