Best Places to Shop for Petite Activewear

Best Places to Shop for Petite Activewear
When it comes to shopping being petite certainly has its challenges . I will admit that I don’t mind taking my nice clothing to the tailor to be fitted and hemmed. I am actually on speed dial with my seamstress. You can read more about our relationship here. What I do have a problem with is taking my clothes that I plan to get sweaty in to her. Petite activewear to the rescue.
Yes, there are plenty of brands out there that now make petite activewear. If they don’t make specific petite sizes many now offer shorts and leggings in multiple lengths. Yeah to feeling comfortable and stylish while sweating and to no need for hemming.
While I do shop for a lot of activewear, my workout BFFs do too. So the brands that I am going to chat with you about today are not only brands that I shop, but so do my workout BFFs.
My Workout BFFs – Petite Activewear Experts

I thought I would tell you a little about my two workout BFFs. We met at the gym several years ago. All three of us are passionate about staying in shape. However, each of us is passionate about different types of workouts. We all know what works for us individually. Every once in a while we get together to work out since we go to different gyms now. The photo above was taken when we did a yoga class together. So here’s a few more tidbits about each of them. After reading a bit about them you will know why I polled them about some of their favorite places to shop for petite activewear.
Lindi
Lindi is 5’2″. She owns and operates a competitive gymnastics gym. I would wager that she owns more activewear than any other woman I know. Why do I say that? She wears it to work every day (6 days a week) while she is coaching.
Andrea
Andrea is also 5’2″. She is on the move more than any woman I know. Mother of three kids who are all involved in at least one competitive sport. Her precious little dog is treated to at least three walks for extended periods of time. She starts most mornings by 6 am teaching group fitness classes out of her home to ladies in her neighborhood. She provides them with great instruction while they support and lift one another up.
Me
In case you are new to Sassy for Short or found this thru a google search, here’s a couple of things about me. I am 5’1/2″. I work out 4-5 days a week. The goal is 5, but sometimes life and work get in the way. I love to lift weights and do infrared sauna workouts. My sauna workouts are usually pilates, yoga, or barre. I like to think of the as my recovery workouts with a good detox as a bonus.
So now let’s get to the good part….where the 3 of us like to shop for petite activewear.
Our Favorite Places to Shop
First of all, I think that it is important for every woman to know the inseam length that she prefers. You know what you like on your body and what you feel best in so go grab a pair and then take a look at this guide before you go shopping. It will help you with all of your clothing purchases, not just your activewear.
Athleta
All three of us are fans of this shop. Not only do they offer petite leggings, but they also have many top options that come in petite sizing. Here are a few of our favorite styles.
Lululemon
I don’t think I have ever met a woman who doesn’t like Lululemon leggings. No matter your sport preference they have the clothing to make it a great workout. Length is never an issue for any petite girl because they have complimentary in store hemming.
Vuori
I remember introducing Lindi to the infamous Vuori joggers to wear to work during the winter months. Now she has several pair and also loves their leggings. They are known for their soft fabrics. There are a few other styles we like too.
Nordstrom
I am a fan of the Nordstrom brand Zella. Several pairs of their leggings are in my closet. I usually get the 7/8 leggings and they end up being a full length tight on me. The other option is that if you are a member of the Nordy club you do have those alterations notes to use.
Other Places that Make Our Lists
The places above are our most frequented. That doesn’t mean that we aren’t always on the lookout at other places. Here are a few more brands that have a good selection of petite activewear.
THANKS
As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by my little corner of the internet today. I really appreciate it and hope that you found a new source for petite activewear today.
Remember to always have a little SASs in your day.
Hugs,

The text that is underlined and shows up in a different color is usually a link to another blog post that I have written, another site, or a product. The links to a product are affiliate links. What that means is that if you click on a link to a product and make a purchase, Sassy for Short (a.k.a Beth) gets a small commission at no extra cost to you. The same goes if you click on any of the pictures to get more information about a product. I really appreciate you supporting the brands that make it possible for me to keep this blog going!
I love Athleta, Lululemon and Zella – I’ll have to check out Vuori as I hear great things about them! I switch between petite and regular depending on the style and brand – I’m so glad that there are brands offering both! Xo Nipa
I know. It’s nice that more companies are finally offering petite sizing. For me so much of it depends on the rise when it comes to leggings and shorts. Vuori has some great things. Their joggers are the best.
Beth
Do you know I’ve never tried these brands. But I will admit that I LOVE the ruched leggings now that I’ve tried them.

You’ll laugh I have never tried the ruched leggings. My friend Lindi loves the ones from Gymshark so keep an eye out for them.
