All for A Good Night’s Sleep

All for a Good Night’s Sleep…something that we all love and long for.  Are you like me and wish that you could sleep as well as your furry children?  When they are out, they are out.  Doesn’t matter the time of day or location in the house.

A good night’s sleep isn’t always that easy to come by.  Many of us are in the midst of menopause and hormones that are ever changing.  Others have stress-related sleep issues.  Needless to say there are many reasons that a good night’s sleep eludes us more often than we prefer.

For the last year I have had melatonin level issues which has really messed with my beauty rest.  Yes, I have too much melatonin and slowly but surely my doctor and I have been working to reduce this pesky problem.  That process is an entire post of its own.  Today I want to talk about a few of the items that have really helped me with my sleep patterns.

“Early to Bed, Early to Rise” is the perfect description of me.  Many nights I go to bed before dark in the summertime which does not make things easier for falling to sleep.  Here are 3 things that I have found to help me get a good night’s sleep.

  • Slip Silk Mask – Since I go to bed with the chickens this blocks out all bits of light and also gives my eyes a treat at the same time.
  • Jojoba Oil with NOW Peaceful Sleep – I am a huge fan of Jojoba oil (read more here).  I add a few drops of this wonderful smelling oil to it and slather it on my chest, neck and arms.  It is very soothing.
  • Headspace Sleepcasts and Sleep Sounds – Every day I spend time with the Headspace app.  It has just become part of my daily routine.  As I am going to sleep at night I love to listen to various voices and sounds to soothe me into a deep sleep.  I am usually out like a light way before it ends.

Do you  have any tricks up your sleep for getting a good night’s sleep?  Would love to hear them.
