Camel and White for Summertime

Camel and white is a favorite color combo for me in the summertime. Both are crisp and cool for the southern heat. Today’s take on camel and white is an animal print jacket that is one of my closet classics. As you follow me, you will see that I don’t believe in reinventing my wardrobe each and every season. A wardrobe is something that is built over time and by that I mean years.
I bring this favorite jacket out to play every spring and summer. It has attended so many luncheons and brunches over the years. White cotton sateen slacks or a white pencil skirt pair beautifully with it. Another cute look is a pair of cropped white pants since it is such a short jacket.
My shoe and handbag choice of the day is also neutral. A simple pair of nude patent leather pumps and a camel handbag that has some sheen and subtle pattern to it as well. Keeping it all simple, clean, and classic for the warmer weather.
Today’s OOTD has a theme to it….subtle shine. Several years ago I worked with a stylist who had an interesting take on many things in fashion. One of his big takeaways for me has been shine with shine, texture with texture. Thus, my choice of cotton sateen bottoms with this silky jacket. Shiny patent leather shoes and a handbag with shine naturally complete the look for me.
I looked and looked and couldn’t find a similar jacket. Here are some similar slacks and shoes.
Do you have any fashion advice that has stuck with you over the years like this tidbit? I would love to hear what your tidbits of wisdom are. What is your favorite neutral to wear with white other than black?
Wishing you a lovely week.
