Shorts in Midlife and beyond, of course.  The age old question about women wearing shorts after a certain age is out the door if you ask me.  You have to wear what you feel comfortable in and what suits your lifestyle.  In my opinion, many midlife women look better in their shorts than the younger generations.  Shorts in Midlife is all about how you style them.

So far we have been pretty lucky in that the heat and humidity hasn’t been too bad here in Atlanta.  I am sure that by the time 4th of July is here, we will be pulling our favorite shorts out of the closet on repeat.  Before we break out the shorts on the regular we need to make sure our legs are ready to be seen.  Here are some tips to keep your legs looking their best.  Also, don’t forget about keeping them moisturized and tanned.  Just below this in the slider are some of my favorite products for that.  In my closet there are two types of shorts, everyday shorts and dressy shorts.  Keep reading to see why we need to have both in our lives.

Everyday Shorts in Midlife

Everyday shorts are a must have for being around the house and running errands in my book.  I try not to spend too much money on this type of short because inevitably they are going to get stained or messed up.  At least they do for me.  Are you the same?

As a petite, I still feel comfortable in a 3-4″ inseam.  There are also a lot of great options out there that are longer such as a 7″ or bermuda.  It’s all what is comfortable for you.  My rule of thumb is that the shorter the short, the lower the heel on the sandal.  Oh and the other 2 shoes that are must haves with everyday shorts are a well supported flip flop and tennis shoes.

Yes, I think that nice dressy shorts have their own occasions.  Whether it is a shorter short that has a nice drape to the fabric or a classic bermuda they can be styled for a totally put together look.  I love both styles with a great wedge or a block heel sandal so that you can scoot about quickly and comfortably.

I have been on the prowl for new shorts this season.  I have had to replace so many of mine for fit reasons.  Below are some great ones that I have found.  Trust me, the searching took a while.  There’s a little bit of everything.  From solids to patterns, short shorts to bermudas.  Le me know if you find something and would like me to help you style them so that you can feel sassy and stylish in shorts this summer.  You can click on each of the photos to get more information.  If you decide that any of them need to live in your closet I may receive a small commission from this.  Trust me, it is very small and it costs you nothing.

Thanks so much for taking time to read this.  Remember to always have a little SASs in your day.

Hugs,
