Summer Weather – A Favorite Way to Dress
Summer weather is here in the south even though the official start of summer is June 26th. Once Memorial Day rolls around summer weather is in full swing. Schools are out, vacations begin, and traffic isn’t near as bad most days. Trust me, we enjoy summer traffic while we can.
With the warmer temps and humidity the skirts and dresses come to the forefront in my closet. My usual go style for casual comfort is the classic A-line. It is a style that suits most body types. It isn’t too body hugging, and doesn’t have lots of excess fabric that many fuller skirts have.
Today I am wearing a cute vertical stripe skirt from Ann Taylor which I am sure is on sale for the holiday weekend. My choice of tops was a cute hot pink t-shirt by Three Dots. What I really like about this skirt is that it can be treated as a neutral. If you feel comfortable with a pattern on top, then absolutely go for it. As a petite, I prefer a solid. If solids are your thing like me, then think a little outside the box. This stripe would be great with yellow, green, red, or orange.
The M.Gemi sandals are from last season, but this year they have a very similar style in blue and some other great colors. Their sandals are very comfortable and great quality for the price point.
We don’t have many plans for this Memorial Day weekend. We are finally getting fresh mulch installed on Saturday so the yard will be ready for the summer season. Sunday and Monday will include some relaxing by the pool either in the morning or late afternoon.
There are lots of sales going on this weekend to get you ready for summer weather. Wishing you a lovely holiday weekend.
Love your take in paperbag waist. Would never have tried otherwise.
Hope you enjoy them this summer.
