Kitchen Time: Midweek Meander #8

Kitchen time is what this week is all about.  This past week just flew by.  Mark and I made a quick trip to Cincinnati over the weekend.  Let me tell you it was COLD.  Just as we were getting ready to leave on Sunday morning it started snowing combined with freezing rain.  So nice to get away, yet there was some anxiety that came with it.  I would like to go back and visit the city again when it is warm enough to get out and about.  Their downtown architecture and outdoor spaces looked so lovely and inviting.

Those of you who know me well, know that I have so many food issues.  This past year has been quite a doozy for me too.  Food anxiety is real when you have my issues.  I am always wondering if somehow gluten, dairy, or soy was snuck into the food that I am eating.  I think that was more of an issue for me that Covid anxiety.  So when I thought about what has been on my mind this week, it is spending more time in my kitchen so that my tummy is happy again.  Thank goodness for meds while we were away.  They kept me feeling pretty good, but now it’s time to dial it in again.

Kitchen Time:  What I Can’t Wait to Make

This new recipe for Drunken Shrimp from SkinnnyTaste has been on my radar for a couple of weeks and I plan to make this for a nice change up.  Can’t wait to serve it with some wilted spinach.  Would love to have the crusty bread, but will most likely serve it with some of my favorite gluten free pasta.  Doesn’t it look delicious.

I have to admit that I made these a few weeks ago, but I plan to have them this weekend for a treat.  Love the fact that you always have the ingredients on hand for these Baked Bananas.  They were so each and I made sure that I put some dairy free whipped topping in the freezer for the next time.  Oh so quick and easy.

What I’m Looking Forward To

So last week I talked about how we are less than 60 days until Spring.  If you haven’t read that post, you have to check out some of my favorite springtime coffee table books about spring blooms.  Seems hard to believe, but with temps close to 70 today it does seem a bit more real.  I know that I am looking forward to being able to dine outdoors and maybe, possibly have others over for a fun lunch or dinner.  Good food and good friends are always an important part of kitchen time.

I love a pretty place setting and just had to see what was out there.  Now if these don’t sing spring I don’t know what does.   Wouldn’t you love to eat off of these pretty salad plates and wipe your mouth with the coordinating napkins.  Hmmm….now what would I serve with them?  Stay tuned.  Top get more information about these beauties below just click on the photo.

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week.  Remember to always have a little SASs in your day.

Hugs,
