How To Choose A Spa In Atlanta, Georgia

A spa visit needs to be a relaxing, positive experience from the moment you walk in the door until you walk or float out the door. There are so many options how do you know which one is the best for you? Here are a few things to keep in mind before booking your “me time” at one of the best spas in Atlanta. I also have several tips for finding a great med spa if you are looking for one of those too.

1. Reviews

Check out online reviews. You can learn so much about a spa (or any business) by the reviews that they do or do not have. Don’t just look at the spa’s website. Look for Google and Yelp reviews.

Good old word of mouth. I don’t know about you, but I love a good referral. I also like to share referrals if I find someone that does an outstanding treatment or massage.

2. Check Out The List Of Services & Pricing

The list of services and types of treatments is endless these days. So many of them can also be customized. Figure out what type of service you want to have and see if their offerings match up. Then, comes that awful word….budget. See if the two align. Also, don’t forget that gratuity is always on top of your services.

3. Staff Qualifications

This is something you don’t want to overlook. Check out the staff’s qualifications on the website. The state does have licensing requirements so you want to make sure that staff members meet those qualifications.

I have learned that years of experience do not always make someone the best-qualified person. Sometimes you can book with someone who is newer to the industry and they will be fantastic. Go with your gut feeling on it.

4. Spa environment

Look at as many photos of the spa and the treatment areas as you can. The aesthetic vibe of the spa is important. What makes it relaxing to you could be different than what makes a space relaxing for me. When you are reading reviews also look for any comments about the cleanliness of the spa.

If you are local see if you can stop in for a tour before booking. How you are treated on the phone and the moment you walk in the door also makes a difference.

5. Products Used

Spas will usually highlight the products they use on their website. See if they are brands you are familiar with. You can also ask if they use organic, vegan, or cruelty-free products if that is important to you.

6. Medical Information

A spa typically asks you to fill out an intake form when you arrive. It should ask not only for personal information but also medical information. The type of medical information should include general medical history, medications that you take, and past surgeries. This is so your provider has a good idea about your medical history.

After the medical history conversation, you should be able to discuss what you are looking for from the treatment and any other preferences you have.

Thanks, Let’s Keep In Touch

Thanks for stopping by. Please let me know if you book a little self-care time at one of these spas in Atlanta. Also, let me know if there is a spa that I must try. I’m always up for a little me time.
