Sometimes there are those days when you have had a rough one and need a little luxurious self-indulgence. Well, that is when I turn to my favorite silk pajamas. Not only do they feel good, but there are good reasons to wear silk pajamas and robes for lounging and sleeping.

Pajamas are so restful, so peaceful, and a must-have. If you think back to the classic movies did you ever see any of the leading ladies wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts to lounge or sleep in? Now, I am not saying that we shouldn’t have sweatpants and sweatshirts, but ladies there is a time and place for everything.
A beautiful pair of pajamas or a robe can be just as comfortable AND you will look great. I always suggest getting pajamas and robes in YOUR color. You know the color that you look your best in regardless of the light. Those ladies, are the pajamas and robes that you will want to reach for over and over again. Silk is a natural fabric that lets your skin breathe when you are wearing it. So that means it helps to keep you cool in the warm months and warm in the cool months. Here are some other fun facts about silk and why it not only feels good next to your skin, but is beneficial to your skin.
- Silk is hypoallergenic. So if you have sensitive skin or skin allergies this is a fabric for you.
- Easy to maintain. You can wash them by hand or in the washing machine on a gentle cycle and hang them to dry. I use this detergent on mine to keep them looking their best.
- Silk is a durable fabric. Yes, it is one of the strongest natural fibers. When fibers are woven together they resist stretching and tearing and will last for many years.

Everyone has their definition of worth. The case for paying the price for an expensive pair of pajamas comes down to this. Do you love the way they feel on your skin? Do you like the fact that they are temperature-regulating? Do you mind hand washing or washing your silk pajamas with a little TLC? Do you like to buy garments that will last for many years?

I will admit that I look forward to pulling out my pair of full length pajamas every fall once the temperatures dip. You only need one pair of these because they will last for years. Unless you become addicted to the way they feel, then get as many as your budget allows.

A silk robe is something that you can wear with or without your silk pajamas. I am a fan of being matchy matchy. Many women love a silk robe as a dressing gown. Yes, why not feel special as you are getting ready for your day or for a special occasion. So don’t think you have to save it for a special occasion. Enjoy your silk robe. Remember that it is a durable fabric.
