Keeping them trimmed and polished is my way of keeping them looking their best. It is something that I have to do often because my nails grow so quickly. Also, I like to keep them rather short since I am always typing away on the keyboard. Having great nail polish colors at home is important to me so that I can change things up. I also take mine to the salon with me when I go.

Why My Nails Are So Healthy

I will be honest in that I rarely have a nail to split, crack or break. Lucky? Maybe. Those of you who follow me know that I have a very healthy diet and drink lots of water. I do think that helps. However, I also think that this hair supplement by Nutrafol that I take daily also helps. I know it is a hair supplement. However, since I have been taking it I also noticed a difference in my nails. Take my experience for what it is worth. If you have hair issues, then you might want to try it and see if it helps your nails too.

Here are some great tips from the American Academy of Dermatology on how to keep your nails healthy. Our nails are truly a sign of our overall health so let’s keep them as healthy as we can.

Another product that recently discovered an love for my nails is this cuticle exfoliator from Butter London. So easy to use on your cuticles between salon visits and it really does the trick. Personally, I don’t like to cut my cuticles unless they are really bothering me. This keeps them in check without the trimming.

Colors That Look Best on Fair Skin

Fair skin is not a “one size fits all” description. Every person’s skin tone is unique to them. What is important to know is your skin’s undertone’s. If you don’t know, then this article will help you determine that easily.

In general, light neutral shades look great on fair skin. Think pale grey, ivory, soft whites, and soft beiges. Soft muted shades and pastels also work well with fair skin.

When it comes to nail polish colors think. Corals, some reds and burgundies, as well as, turquoise or navy. It just depends upon how comfortable you feel with bold colors on your nails.

As a person with petite hands and feet, I prefer neutrals on my fingers and bold and bright on my toes. Also, if my nail polish chips on my fingers it doesn’t show as easily.

Great Neutral Nail Colors

I have rounded up some great neutral colors that work well year round. Some of the soft beiges and greys like this beige and this grey are what you will see me wearing this fall and winter. I try to warm the hands up to coordinate better with my fall and winter clothing colors. I will say that my all time favorite neutral polish to wear with my fair skin that has pink undertones is Put It In Neutral from OPI.

Here are some great neutrals to choose from that will be great for this fall.

Colors to Wear This Fall and Winter

Ok, now let’s add some color and fun to our nail polish colors choices for this season. It’s no surprise that we will find some of our favorite reds like this from OPI or this from Butter London and burgundies that are always a no brainer. However, this year why not try some turquoises, darker greys or even navy blue.

Don’t Forget Your Base and Top Coats

Over the years, I have learned that it is best to use the base and top coat for the brand of polish that you are wearing. There must be something in the formulations that just make things work better that way. You have probably noticed that I mentioned three brands of polish in this post. So if you purchase a polish color, then I would suggest that you get their base and top coats to go with it. It doesn’t go bad so you will have it for a long time.

THANKS

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope that you found something pretty to put on your nails for this fall and winter. Nail polish colors that look great on fair skin can just make our fall and winter clothing look even better and we feel great too. Win win in my book.

Remember to have a little SASs in your day!
