Busty Petites: The Best Fitting and Supportive Sports Bras

When you are a busty petite finding bras is not always an easy thing. Finding supportive sports bras for busty petites can be even more challenging.

I have talked before about how to find the perfect bras when you are a busty petite. Most of the same rules apply it’s just that there are even fewer options. Over the years, I have tried so many different sports bras and have finally narrowed it down to a few brands that are comfortable and keep the girl from flipping and flopping when I am doing my thing at the gym.

What I Look For In A Sports Bra as a Busty Petite

Over the years I have realized that it is so much easier to buy my sports bras by my bra size. Just for reference, I am either a 28DD or a 30DD depending upon the brand. So that being said, let me walk you thru my checklist. Here’s another source for how to easily get in and out of a sports bra.

Sizing

So many sports bras as sized XS to XXL. That sizing does not usually equate to accommodating someone with my measurements or someone that I would consider a busty petite. The only time that I wear a bra that is sized this way is when I do yoga or pilates and I do not need support. The reason being is that my chest is usually spilling out of the bra and it stretches out too much at the band in a short period of time. Then there is absolutely no support. I have concluded that for me it is best to wear my bra size as much as possible.

How it Fastens

My sports bras need to fasten in the back just like my regular bras. Why? Trying to get a sports bra off over my head when I am a hot and sweaty mess is just not fun. It is so much easier to fasten and unfasten the old fashioned way. Many now have the option in the back to make the straps into a racerback if you don’t want your straps to show.

Support

Ok, I will admit that as I have aged the underwire bra has been my go to for support. It helps keep the girls lifted and in place. Many sports bras are available in underwire and can be quite comfortable. You just have to keep trying to find one that fits your body.

The other thing to look for in a sports bra is the width of the back band and the shoulder bands. You want both to be thicker/wider. That means that the weight of your chest will be more evenly distributed and less bounce.

The Best Supportive Sports Bras for Busty Petites That I Have Found

Anita Air Control High Impact Wire Free Bra c/o

1. Anita

Anita Sports bras are extremely supportive, have a great fit, and breathable. They do start at a band size of 30. They go up to K cup size. What’s nice about their sports bras is that the inside of their bras are lined with a soft fabric. I usually find their sports bras at Bare Necessities. The styles that I like to wear are the Air Control High Impact Wire Free Sports Bra and the High Impact Wire-Free Sports Bra.

2. Panache

Panache bras are another favorite of mine. They really do reduce the bounce and the underwire version of either style of bra are very comfortable. I do not find them digging into my chest when I am working out.

They keep it pretty simple for shopping. Either a tradition style bra in under wire or no underwire which I love or a racerback version underwire or no underwire. Their racer back is made so that it is easy to get in and out of since it is by your bra size. You can easily open up the band that goes across your back and it allows you to get it over your head easier.

3. Freya Sports Bras

Dynamic High Impact Wire Free Sports Bra

Freya Sports Bras are built for high impact activities. I have never had to worry about bounce in their wire free or underwire bras. Even on days when I was running sprints on the treadmill or doing jump squats. What’s great is that their band width starts at 28 and the cup size goes all of the way up to HH. Now that is size inclusive ladies.

Again, their design option are for high impact activities. There is the Sonic High Impact Underwire and then Dynamic High Impact Wire Free. I find the wire free to be very comfortable for my lower impact workouts as well.

The text that is underlined and shows up in a different color is usually a link to another blog post that I have written, another site, or a product.  The links to a product are affiliate links.  What that means is that if you click on a link to a product and make a purchase, Sassy for Short (a.k.a Beth) gets a small commission at no extra cost to you.  The same goes if you click on any of the pictures to get more information about a product. Also, some items may be gifted to me, but opinions about the products are always my own. I really appreciate you supporting the brands that make it possible for me to keep this blog going!
