Tricks to dress taller is something that I have tried to do all of my life. One thing that I did not get was the “height” gene. I measure in at a whopping 5’1″ when doing yoga regularly. However, most of my life the measurement has been an even 5′.
My most worn tricks to dress taller are wearing light to dark from top to bottom or wearing a true column of color. Of course, there is always the high heel. Some days and situations just don’t work for them so I rely on one of my tried and true.
Today I am wearing the light to dark and even adding in a vertical stripe. The vertical strip is everyone’s friend for looking longer and leaner. Let’s talk about the other little trick that I have thrown in to make this OOTD complete. Repetition thru variation. Stylists and interior designers both use this on a regular basis.
I started with this pair of Joie striped jeans that I bought earlier this season (similar). The first thing that I had in mind to go with them was this great pair of sandals from Loeffler Randall last summer (other colors available this season). They always put a smile on my face when I look down and see them. The ruffles and colors on the shoes dictated the blouse. Ruffled collar immediately came to mind and this tried and true white blouse from my closet has been a favorite for years. It is even trimmed in silver to match the buttons on the jeans. Next variation on my theme was color for the ears. Pink earrings would stand out and complete the look (now on major sale).
I do this repetition thru variation theme so many times as I wander thru my closet. It really helps to pull an OOTD together.
Make it a great week!
