Snakeskin prints are everywhere this season. Blouses, dresses, skirts, pants, shoes, handbags and anything else you can think of. Is it here to stay like leopard or is it a passing trend? Who knows. The shoe lover in me has always kept a pair or two of classic snakeskin shoes in the closet. Snakeskin belts have always been a favorite of mine too. They just seem to go with so many ensembles.
The neutral colors found in most animal prints lend themselves to being styled for more than one season. So to venture out and buy something snakeskin this season I wanted to make sure it was a piece that I could style for more than one season. This Joie blouse (and it is now on sale) just kept calling my name for some reason. The designer made the style into several different cuts and types of garments, but this sleeveless version just wanted to come and live in my closet for some reason.
Today’s ensemble consists of a pair of white jeans (similar here), neutral heels (similar here), a bronze belt (similar here), and a simple raffia clutch (similar here). All of the other neutrals play off of the snakeskin print and are some of my classic closet staples.
This fall and winter I look forward to using this blouse as a layering piece under black or brown jackets. I also think that it would look really cool under a metallic leather jacket with some black jeans. Have you embraced the snakeskin print yet? Did you stick with a print made of neutrals or a bright color? Would love to know how you like wearing it.
We are expecting much needed rain for the next several days. I am looking foreward to some indoor catch up time.
Happy Weekend!
